Commissioned work.
The Studio accepts a small number of commissions each year. One piece, one client, one entry in the record. What follows is a selection of work already completed, and the correspondence by which new work begins.
Selected plates.

How a commission proceeds.
-
I
Correspondence
The work begins below. Describe what you have in mind and why it should exist. The Studio replies to every serious inquiry.
-
II
The brief
Subject, technique, placement, and terms are agreed in writing before anything is drawn. An edition of one, fixed before the first mark.
-
III
The work
The piece is drawn, proofed, and printed on the Studio's own stock. Progress arrives by correspondence, at the pace the work requires.
-
IV
Delivery
The finished piece is numbered, entered in the record, and dispatched. The commission closes. The record does not reopen.
Three tiers. Half to open.
Every commission opens with a deposit of half. The balance is settled on completion, before dispatch. The deposit holds your place in the queue and commits the Studio to the work.
The Mark
A single crest, sigil, or mark, drawn for one holder. Delivered as the master plate and print files. The smallest commission the Studio takes, and the most often refused.
The Plate
A full illustrated plate in the Studio's hand — one subject, one composition, proofed and printed as an edition of one. Suitable for framing or for the record.
The Garment
A commissioned work drawn, proofed, and printed on the Studio's own heavyweight stock. One garment, one holder, numbered and entered in the record. The record does not reopen.

Write with intent. The more precisely the work is described, the more precisely the Studio can answer. Terms and timing follow by reply.
